Warner Music has expanded its dance label, Spinnin’ Records, into a key European market with the launch of Spinnin\u2019 Records Germany.<\/p>\n

WMG said that the new label “creates opportunities for artists across Germany, Switzerland, and Austria (GSA), while also welcoming talent from around the world”.<\/p>\n

The launch, according to a press release announcing the new label on Friday (April 10), “reinforces Warner Music Central Europe\u2019s commitment to Dance and Electronic music”.<\/p>\n

The original Netherlands-born Spinnin’ Records label was launched in 1999. The influential label was acquired<\/a>\u00a0by\u00a0Warner<\/strong>\u00a0in 2017 in a deal worth over\u00a0$100 million.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The launch of the new label in Germany follows a period of significant change within Spinnin’ and Warner Music’s operations across the Benelux and GSA regions.<\/p>\n

In October, Warner Music Group combined its recorded music businesses<\/a> in Benelux<\/strong>\u00a0(which includes the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg), including Spinnin\u2019 Records, with those in\u00a0Germany, Switzerland,\u00a0<\/strong>and\u00a0Austria<\/strong>\u00a0(GSA) under the Warner Music Central Europe banner.<\/p>\n

Niels Walboomers<\/strong> was appointed President<\/strong>\u00a0of the\u00a0expanded<\/strong>\u00a0WM Central Europe region across those six countries.<\/p>\n

The first release from Spinnin’ in Germany is Awake Tonight<\/em>, a new collaboration between superstars AFROJACK, David Guetta and Australian singer-songwriter Sia.<\/p>\n

Elsewhere in the press release announcing the new label, Warner said that Spinnin\u2019 Records Germany will “offer artists direct access to Spinnin\u2019s massive global ecosystem, including a digital reach of more than 40 million dance fans”.<\/p>\n

It added that this “also means regional artists are plugged into an integrated worldwide specialist dance infrastructure from day one” and will have access to Spinnin\u2019s teams, who are based across the US, the UK, Benelux, Germany, and China.<\/p>\n

The announcement on Friday (April 10) also said that the new label combines “strong local expertise with Spinnin\u2019s global reach and network,” and “offers a platform for artists to grow in GSA and internationally”.<\/p>\n

Artists already signed to Spinnin\u2019 in other markets will continue to be able to work with the Berlin team, WMG said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
